Since the 10th of January 2017 we've been working hard to perfect our Lilliput Dorset Gin branding, our label design has come a long way in quite a short space of time, and it's thanks to our social media followers for sure. As you can see from the image above we started with something quite simple (far left), we asked for feedback and we certainly got it, most folks loved the original design but thought it didn't 'pop' enough so we set to work on making it more dramatic.
We always wanted to use the waves image below to evoke that feeling of being by the sea and we wanted the words Lilliput, Dorset and Gin to be super clear so that everyone knew that we are a gin and we're from Dorset.
It wasn't until the 22nd of January that we landed on using the 'L' icon in the predominant position on the label, we felt this made the bottle 'pop' more on the shelf and our testing on a bar proved this to be the case. We used a small social media sample group to give us feedback and they loved the new design. We further evolved this design at the end of January by increasing the size of the 'L' icon to again make the bottle stand out more on the shelf or on the bar.
As you my have noticed we've also had a few changes in the colour that we're using, we finally landed on Pantone 3115C. So with these design elements all fixed we're now ready for the launch of Lilliput Dorset Gin and we know for sure what the bottle design will be, all of our labels and bottles are in stock and ready to go.
In the future we're looking at a number of variants on our classic gin, the first we're committed to already is Lilliput Hot Gin, this will be our classic gin infused with chilli. Lots of work to do on that but here's a sneak preview of what the design might look like, this is just a rough mock up image but you'll notice the waves have been replaced by chillies.
We hope you've found our bottle evolution interesting, we have lots of new ideas to share with you and we'll be sure to keep you updated here on our Lilliput Dorset Gin blog.
